But at a parent workshop last night, a mom who has voluntarily sat through my talks before (more than once) came to me with this encouraging story.
She was on the phone with her 21 year old daughter currently studying abroad. She said, "You remember the couple who came to talk to you from Positively Waiting?" Without any further prompting her daughter said, "You mean the one who told the story about the table to show me I am worth waiting for? The one who who gave me the pin and talked to me about the sticky tape?" (If you have never seen our talk, just know "the table," "the tape" and "I am worth waiting for" are the message essentials.)
This young adult had heard us, exactly one time, SEVEN years ago when she was 14. And what she heard from us made a difference in how she saw herself and the decisions she made as she moved forward.
Its so nice to be reminded that the Truth has its own way of getting through the minefield of lies.
