OUR MISSION: Positively Waiting! is a community outreach that exists to tell people they're WORTH WAITING FOR!  The physical, emotional and relational consequences of sexual activity compels us to share the POSITIVE BENEFITS of sexual self-control.

Karen Kropf is both the program developer and founding director for Positively Waiting. Karen mobilizes volunteers in speaking and administration roles to continually support the vision for the outreach. As a non-profit, we rely exclusively on the generous donations and monthly contributions from individuals and businesses.

Karen got involved in abstinence education in 1996, by volunteering as a counselor at the Pregnancy Resource Center of the San Fernando Valley.  She built a team of enthusiastic adults with a similar heart for kids. The presentations are medically accurate* and life changing.  Much more than "just say no."

In 1991 at age 31, Karen pledged to store up her sexual treasures until she got married --- not knowing her wait would be as long as her students!  Ten years later, Karen
married her speaking partner, Jim Kropf, on Sept. 1, 2001.  Using the stories of their experiences and the ways they survived challenges to staying abstinent until marriage lends credibility in the classroom.

Karen was a guest on the "Queen Latifah" show in 2000, and a portion of her message was aired as a part of an HBO Family special in 2001.  In November of 2002, Karen was a featured guest on "Stand to Reason" with Greg Koukl, a radio program dedicated to preparing Christians to present biblical principles in the marketplace of ideas.  She speaks to over 10,000 young people a year in both public and private schools, reaching out to youth from churches to juvenile hall to tell them "You are worth waiting for!"

Positively Waiting's Board of Directors are Mark Broom (President), Bob Bae (Secretary) and Scott Cooper (Treasurer), James Kropf (Creative Consultant) and John Mercado (Special Ops).  Advisory Board Members are Chris Conant and Ramsay Devereux.
