OUR MISSION: Positively Waiting! is a community outreach dedicated to revealing the POSITIVE BENEFITS of sexual self-control (abstinence).  This non-profit relies exclusively on generous donations and the monthly contributions from individuals and businesses in our community.  Positively Waiting offers presentations for public and private schools, reaching out to youth from churches to juvenile hall to tell them "You are worth waiting for!"

Karen Kropf is both the program developer and one of the founders.  She began exposing sex, love and relationship MYTHS in 1998, while volunteering at a local pregnancy center.  In 2003, she and a team of enthusiastic adults began offering free public school presentations promoting delayed sexual activity.

Karen and her husband, Jim, openly share their mistakes and the obstacles they faced trying to remain abstinent until marriage.  It establishes an instant credibility in the classroom.  Thousands of young people over the years have responded enthusiastically.

But instead of celebrating the changing attitudes, adults in authority put up every legal, social and rhetorical argument imaginable!  Karen realized, “Despite dozens of indicators proving the 'Sexual Revolution' of the 1960's has caused more harm than good, ADULTS in charge of educating our youth are refusing to accept it.”

Battling their accusations and misconceptions has required an expanded focus.  Karen and her husband still provide school presentations, but now they spend an equal amount of time making the case for sexual self-control
(abstinence outside of marriage/faithfulness within marriage) to ADULTS.  Together, they offer a variety of relationship-building workshops for parents, couples and singles. They live in Southern California.

Karen was a guest on the "Queen Latifah" show in 2000, and a portion of her message was aired as a part of an HBO Family special in 2001.  In November of 2002, Karen was a featured guest on "Stand to Reason" with Greg Koukl, a radio program dedicated to preparing Christians to present biblical principles in the marketplace of ideas.  In 2009, she published her first book,
Sex Makes People Stupid: How to Avoid Ending Up With a Weenie.

Positively Waiting's Board of Directors are Scott Cooper (President), Marc Broom (Secretary) Johnny Mercado (Treasurer), and James Kropf (Creative Consultant).  Advisory Board Members are Bob Bae, Chris Conant and Ramsay Devereux.
